My early years were spent doing some 4-H, but mostly spent riding trails while camping/hunting the Blue Mountains, summer pack trips to the Wallowa Mountains, riding on the sandy shores of the Columbia river while rest of my family water skied, or after school with my horsy girlfriends.
![]() It was during high school that I met my dear friend Shanda Zessin. It was then that I became interested in the Barrel Racing sport and competed locally for several years. After high school I worked cattle for the Walla Walla Livestock Auction Sale Yard and began training horses. ![]() ![]()
My horse activities over the past 30 years have included a wide variety of riding ventures; countless hours of trail riding in the Blue Mountains, mapping trails for Forest Service, rounding up and working cattle, team roping, parades, rodeo drill team entertainment, rodeo flag presentations, competitive mounted orienteering, mounted search & rescue, and most recent is the mountain trail competitions.

One of my life long goals had always been to raise and train horses. I’ve always admired the foundation Quarter Horse bloodlines with a fondness for the Blue Roan and Grulla colors. While shopping for a stallion to breed my mare too, I found this unique Blue Roan Paint stallion. His bloodlines carried two of my personal favorites Music Mount and Three Bars, plus some Hancock and Oklahoma Star. I didn’t know much about Paints then, but after meeting him and his overwhelmingly quiet and loving disposition, I knew he was the right horse to start my dream.![]() ![]()
Over the past 10 years my husband John and I have been raising gentle quality foundation foals by Rowdee Music and our broodmares, whose bloodlines have included Poco Bueno, Three Bars, Sugar Bars, Two Eyed Jack, Scottish, and King Fritz. These foals are handled with natural horsemanship methods which begin when they are born and continue until they are sold. |
